Search for local land charges

Use this service to search for restrictions (local land charges) on land or property.

The most straightforward way to access information under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (link opens in new tab) is by conducting an online personal search. The information will be provided to view on screen instantly and free of charge.

Difference between personal and official searches

Personal

You will be able to view on screen all the details of registration for charges that affect the land you are searching, but will not have access to additional features of the official search.

Official

You will be able to view all the details of registration for charges that affect the land you are searching on an official certificate that is digitally signed and guaranteed by HM Land Registry. You will also benefit from additional features below.

By starting a search you agree to our terms of use. For further information about the service see Practice Guide 79 (link opens in new tab).
